The Combo Challenge
Robot vacuum-mop combos try to do two jobs. In 2026, the best models actually succeed at both. Here is how they performed in our standardized tests.
Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra — Best Overall
The extendable mop arm reaches along walls, and the auto-lift feature raises the mop pad when carpet is detected. Vacuuming picked up 97% of debris on hard floors and 89% on medium carpet.
Dreame L20 Ultra — Best Mopping
Dual rotating mop pads with 12N of downward pressure. It scrubbed dried coffee stains clean in two passes. The base station washes, dries, and refills the mop pads automatically.
iRobot Roomba Combo j9+ — Best for Carpet Homes
The mop pad lifts completely to the top of the robot when carpet is detected — the only design that guarantees zero wet carpet incidents.
