Best Ecosystem: Philips Hue (Matter-over-Thread)
The Bridge now supports Matter natively with Thread border router. Color accuracy is best-in-class (CRI 95+ on white, 90+ on colors). The gradient lightstrips and Play HDMI Sync Box create immersive entertainment setups. Downside: premium pricing.
Best WiFi: LIFX (No Hub Required)
LIFX's WiFi bulbs are brighter than Hue (1100 vs 800 lumens for A19). Colors are vivid with CRI 88. The new LIFX Ceiling panel is stunning. WiFi reliability improved significantly with their mesh networking update.
Best Decorative: Nanoleaf Shapes/Lines
Modular wall panels with Screen Mirror and Music Visualizer. The 4D lightstrip behind your monitor syncs with on-screen content. Thread support is native. Great for accent lighting, not primary illumination.
Best Budget: Govee Glide/Strip
Surprisingly good color accuracy at 1/3 the price of Hue. The AI-powered DreamView camera syncs lights to your TV content without an HDMI box. Matter support added in 2026 firmware update.
