Robot Vacuum Guide 2026
We scattered measured quantities of flour, rice, pet hair, and cereal across hardwood, low-pile carpet, and high-pile carpet. Each robot ran 5 cleaning cycles per surface. We also tested obstacle avoidance with cables, shoes, socks, and pet toys.
Best Overall: Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra ($1,499)
6000Pa suction, dual rubber brushes, and a self-cleaning mop station that washes and dries the mop pad. The 3D structured light + RGB camera navigates flawlessly — zero collisions in our obstacle course. Carpet detection automatically lifts the mop.
Best Mid-Range: Dreame L20 Ultra ($899)
Extendable mop arm reaches 4mm from walls (others leave a 2cm gap). 7000Pa suction. The base station empties dust, refills water, and washes the mop. Navigation is 95% as good as the Roborock.
Best Budget: Eufy Clean X10 Pro ($399)
8000Pa suction (strongest in this price range), self-emptying base, and decent mopping. Navigation uses LiDAR only (no camera), so it bumps into thin objects like cables more often.
