Competitive fighting game players demand minimal input lag and reliable actuation from their controllers. We tested eight popular fightsticks and leverless pads — including models from Victrix, Razer, HitBox, and MixBox — using a 240fps camera setup to measure actual input-to-screen latency. Each controller was also tested for SOCD (simultaneous opposite cardinal direction) cleaning compliance with major tournament rulesets. The Victrix Pro FS Arcade Fight Stick measured an impressive 1.2ms of additional input lag beyond the baseline display latency, with Sanwa buttons providing crisp, consistent actuation. The HitBox All-Button Controller remained the gold standard for leverless play at 0.8ms added latency, though its learning curve is steep for stick veterans. The Razer Kitsune impressed as the thinnest tournament-legal option at just 1.5cm thick, making it ideal for travel to locals. We also tested the Brooks Universal Fighting Board for DIY builders.
